Alfa MiTo Multijet II Arrives in the UK

The latest addition to the Alfa MiTo range, the Alfa MiTo 1.3 JTDM-2 has been introduced on the British Market. The new diesel engine is able to control the quantity of fuel injected into the cylinder, with a quicker and more flexible injection sequence. The Multijet II can, in fact, manage eight injections per cycle.

Moreover, the second generation 1.3-litre MultiJet engine complies with Euro 5 emissions legislation and comes with Start&Stop and Diesel Particulate Filter.

“The big advantage the new Euro 5 engine has over the outgoing Euro 4 power-plant is that torque delivery at low RPM can be up to 25 per cent greater,” a company statement reads.

The powerplant develops 95 bhp and is able to reach 62 mph in 11.6 seconds and keeps on revving until achieving a top speed of 112 mph.

According to the manufacturer, CO2 output for the new variant is of 112 g/km, while fuel consumption is rated at 65.7 mpg on combined cycle.

“The engine also employs a second generation turbocharger with variable vane geometry, which, along with the MultiJet II injection system, ensures the best possible turbo function at any engine operating level. The big advantage the new Euro 5 engine has over the outgoing Euro 4 power-plant is that torque delivery at low RPM can be up to 25 per cent greater,” the statement continues.

The Alfa MiTo 1.3 JTDM-2 is available in three trim levels, namely Turismo, Lusso and Veloce for a price starting at £13,995 OTR.
