I Want to Drive!... Even if my financial situation is a bit far from tying up with that of my colleague Bach, you probably already know I'm not actually poor either. And that's just to be modest. Yet, I don't like helicopters and I only use planes if I really have to. I'm a fan (age ... Continue reading >

Although it was officially presented at the 2008 Essen Motor Show, Heico's aftermarket package for Volvo XC60 was quite an enigma as the tuners haven't provided too many details regarding the upgrades. Until today! As you can see for yourself in the photos attached to the article, the customized model looks quite good, keeping the "original design features such as the characteristic daytime running lamps," the tuner said in a statement for the press.

To be more specific, the body package consists of front, rear and side improvements, as well as engineering upgrades that help the standard engines develop a bit more power.

The first thing you'll notice when looking at the car is surely the front spoiler which, according to the tuner, perfectly meets pedestrian safety standards. Then, there are the 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels that come in a choice of several colors, depending on the consumer's choice. Interiors have been customized with leather all around, Heico trims on the front seats, door panels and shift knob.

As mentioned, the standard XC60 engines provide a bit more output thanks to some engineering upgrades. The 2.4-liter D and D5 units that produced 163 and 185 PS are now capable of rolling out 210 PS while the 3.0-liter turbo straight-six configuration produces 315 PS.

"Our inspiration and challenge focused on further accentuating the dynamic design of the crossover," says HEICO SPORTIV general manager, Holger Hedtke, giving the first indications of what is to be expected of the new exterior, adding: "The design elements dissolve smoothly into one another - the Volvo XC60 should appear as an integrated whole and evoke emotions."
