The Acura ILX, the luxury version of the Honda Accord, has been chosen as the platform for a very impressive array of LED lights. How many? Well, some 7,500 controllable LEDs have been installed throughout the car, turning it into a unique mobile spectacle of light and color.
The installation took around 4,600 hours and the array required more than 1,100 lines of code to get working correctly. The car was modified in this unusual way, as it will be included in the US tour of a indie rock and New Wave music group called ‘Metric’.
The idea behind the LED array was to give the car a utterly unique look, while also offering an even more unique 3D experience for those lucky enough to take a seat inside the car. We also say that the ultra-modern-looking and sharp styling of the ILX really set it apart as one of the best and only choices for such a project.
