AC Schnitzer’s BMW X5 M50d Looks Spectacular Out of the Urban Jungle

AC Schnitzer was one of the first tuners that presented a kit for the, back then, new BMW F15 X5. It happened back in March and, in their typical fashion, they released it with an entire set of accessories.

Even though they have engine upgrade kits for the entire range, this time we’re focusing on an M50d model, the biggest, baddest diesel in the configurator.

In stock configuration, this bad boy has the world record holder 3-liter diesel engine under the bonnet. It has no less than three turbochargers hooked up to it and makes 381 HP and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque at the same time.

That wasn’t enough for ACS who knew that it could do even better. Therefore, they ‘invented’ an kit that takes it even further up, to 430 HP and 840 Nm (619 lb-ft) of torque. Couple that with the xDrive system and you can imagine just how brutal the acceleration is from a standstill.

Of course, engine upgrades are only part of the work done in the German tuner’s headquarters. They also offer aerodynamic bits and pieces to improve both the air drag coefficient but also make the car look even more aggressive. You can check them out in the photo gallery below alongside a set of Type VII wheels taken somewhere outside city limits.
