AC Sanctuary Kawasaki Z1, a "Less Is More" Living Proof
AC Sanctuary have become masters in stripping down bikes to the minimum, leaving no unnecessary parts in their place and modifying everything into a street racing machine shape. In fact the concept behind their philosophy is "Real Complete Machine" and it means offering a truly ready-to-race beast, with the looks and finish one would only expect from a factory job.
The Z1 (RCM-242) is a modified 70's muscle bike, with heavily customized frame and even a different chain offset, now sporting a ZRX1200 fork and Marchesini wheels. Now, "heavily customized frame" should read a custom steering neck and swingarm, both made in-house, just like the low-swung handles.
The Sunstar discs are now squeezed by Brembo calipers with Nissin master cylinders for a firm, sporty and dependable stopping power. The 4 exhaust lines gather into a single Nitro Racing short-can silencer for a true racing look, whose satin black finish contrasts beautifully with the mellow yellow of the Ohlins rear shocks.
TheAC Sanctuary Z1 retails for around $37,000 (€27,650): quite a lot, but thinking that you get a custom bike that's better than a new one... the price starts to make some sense.
