Tuning a popular and expensive car is profitable because there are lots of potential customers. So the all-new VW Tiguan should be a prime target since the previous generation managed 2.8 million deliveries worldwide.
Being one of the biggest players in the VW scene, it's only natural that ABT Sportsline had a go as well. And thankfully, they didn't give us a crazy body kit to criticize. VW have done a good enough job as it is.

Instead, their efforts have been focused on the engine department, offering easy to install power packages for the most popular turbos. The best result was achieved with the middle 2.0 TDI, as it's been taken from 190 PS and 400 Nm to 215 PS and 440 Nm of torque.

Unfortunately, they haven't done anything to the 2.0 BiTDI, but we know from the Passat that they can push it to 280 PS. As for the less powerful version of the 2.0 TDI, the one with 150 PS, its output is increased to 180 PS and 380 Nm of torque.

The only gasoline engine ABT have played with is the 2.0 TSI, though not the powerful one, but the eco model that's been boosted from 180 to 216 PS. Why would you even bother with that when there's already a 220 PS 2.0 TSI on the Tiguan! When you consider what ABT can do to the Golf GTI, you begin to understand that it's a prime tuning target.

The 2016 Tiguan in this photo gallery still has most of its factory bits, though it looks nice thanks to the R-Line optional package. It includes everything from larger front air intakes to a black grille.

Even though the R-Line has the lowest suspension of any Tiguan, ABT decided to deduct another 30mm, ensuring a wagon-like stance that's sure to be popular with the Worthersee crowd. And to show off this upgrade, customers can choose from a number of wheel designs, ranging in size from 18 to 21 inches. It's low, but not enough to compromise the SUV experience. In our book, the only thing left to do here is add a twin exhaust system.
