A Motorcycle V-Twin Engine Made of Wood [Video]
The maker of this amazing piece is Raymond Levesque, and it's such a shame that the "making of" video only surfaced now. Anyway, it's away better late than never, and a good big hand to Raymond is most likely welcome at any time.
According to the info associated in the video, making such a cool engine yourself is not exactly rocket engineering,a s long as you have the right type of wooden panels, a band saw and are careful enough not to loose a finger, just like Jesse James did. Cutting the wood according to the specified pattern and assembling it correctly could be quite glorious entertainments for a weekend.
As far as we could tell, this engine still has to receive some transparent side panels showing the movement of all the parts inside, driving the final crank. It could look even more awesome with a nifty paint job, but that's up to everybody's preferences: have it showing the veneer or looking as sharp as a freshly-uncrated engine. What's your choice?
