A Flying Bicycle? Yes, Please! [Video]

As we’ve said before, we think that the marrying of the bicycle and electric drive is a very good example of harmonious mechanical symbiosis. However, why not add propellers to the concept to have real ‘go anywhere’ capabilities?

Well, if you thought nobody was doing that, you were wrong, as such a bike, with the capability to fly is already on the ‘drawing board’. The plan is to make the 85 kg bike capable of maintaining stable and safe short flights (3 to 5 minutes) running off the bike’s battery pack, reaching a top speed (in the air, that is) of 50 km/h (31.25 mph).

If you want to see it in action, it should be ready in August, and it will be showcased at the International Engineering Fair, in Brno, the Czech Republic, one month later, in September.
