It’s difficult enough to build a ten-second car, but when we’re talking about this level of performance, getting things down to the eight-second range requires tons of work, as it happened with the C6 Z06 Corvette in the clip below.
As its owners explains, the best time achieved by the ‘Vette sits in the 8.2s range, so yes, this Z06 does broaden the badge.

As we said, this is the result of plenty of hard work and we’ll give you a short walkthrough of the engine compartment. The motivation comes from a 427 CI LSX V8, which works with an F1C Procharger that delivers around 20 lbs of boost.

There are plenty of supporting mods, including a Holley intake and an EFI coming from the same aftermarket specialist.

The run shown in the clip below may not be as fast as the one mentioned above though. Instead, this run is all about the trap speed, with the supped-up Z06 managing to hit 172 mph (277 km/h).

While the exterior of this ‘Vette isn’t exactly what you’d call a sleeper attitude, it’s the cabin that really gives the performance away. The removable steering wheel is an example as good as any when it comes to demonstrating this Z06’s dedication for the drag strip.

Then there’s the soundtrack. But we’ll stop the explanations here, as we don’t want to ruin the rubber-melting pleasures hidden behind the “play” button below.
