With the F10 BMW M5 now retiring, we're here to show you one of the reasons for which this generation of the super-sedan has gained so many fans. And we'll focus on a drag racing moment to illustrate this, one that also involves a Lamborghini.
As anybody who's tried to buy a used Bimmer knows, the Bavarian machines, be they M cars or two-liter diesels with steel wheels, are some of the tuning scene's favorite targets. And the M5 we have here is no exception to that rule.

The twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 animating the F10 had been gifted with a few effective mods, such as Supersprint downpipes, an Akrapovic exhaust and an ESS ECU remap.

Thanks to these custom bits, the M5 has jumped from 560 to around 700 hp. As a result of the gym visit, the driver of the BMW decided to see what his five-seater can do against a Lamborghini Huracan - regardless of the result, the idea itself is enough of a feat for many BMW fans out there.

The tuned F10 met the V10 Ranging Bull, a "standard" LP610-4 model, during a speeding event in Sweden. And since the Sant'Agata Bolognese animal packed an all-wheel-drive advantage, they went for a rolling start.

In theory, this should've helped the M5 put its power down, but that's not how things went on the pavement. The video below, which gives us a good view of the race, shows the Bimmer struggling to find traction as the velocity brawl kicks off.

With the German machine being used as the camera car (the clip was shot from the passenger seat of the BMW), you can get a very good idea of how difficult it was for the rear tires of the M5 to make friends with the asphalt underneath.

Given the struggling take-off displayed by the twin-turbo V8 animal, this is the type of race that leaves us with a "what if?" feeling.
