520 HP Nitrous Subaru Forester (The Toaster) Goes Drag Racing in Australia

When enthusiasts seek a used Subaru with the aim of turning it into a project car, the Forester is always the obvious underdog. Nevertheless, this trend has led to quite a few Foresters that can easily show STI Imprezas who's boss and we're here to give you the most recent example of this.
The Forester we're referring to comes all the way from Australia and friends call it "the toaster". Humor aside, this family machine packs a serious punch.

Under the hood, we find Subaru's 2.35-liter EJ four-cylinder unit, which has ditched its factory turbo for a monstrous 71mm unit. Using boost alone (yep, there's more and we'll explain shortly), this Forester delivers 420 hp.

Nevertheless, the luggage compartment accommodates a nitrous bottle. According to the driver of the Subaru, the 120 shot in the trunk dials things to 520 horses. Oh, and let's not forget the soundtrack, which is meaty enough to sustain the performance of the car.

As most machines used for high-velocity shenanigans, this Subaru has been put on a diet, with the vehicle now tipping the scales at 3,010 lbs (make that 1,365 kg if you prefer the metric system).

And yes, the Forester has been lowered, but that's probably the first mod any enthusiast would apply, since the standard hardware isn't exactly friendly when it comes to high-speed corners.

With the help of its all-wheel-drive and using Mickey Thompson street rubber, this Forester went drag racing, going up against plenty of machines. For instance, the Subaru leaves behind an R34 Nissan GT-R, one that had also been taken down the modding route.

And when it comes to the prepped surface of a drag strip, the Subaru we have here can deliver high-10s runs, which, as the original Fast and Furious has taught the world, makes for one hell of a ride.
