5 LaFerraris, 2 Porsche 918s and 2 McLaren P1s Meet at Shanghai Supercar Club

What do you do when you have to inaugurate a supercar club? Well, asking high-octane machine owners to adorn the location with their mechanical jewels is pretty much the way to go, so we can't hold anything against the organizers of the meeting in the image above, despite the shameless display of horsepower that's been keeping us on our toes for quite some time now.

The line-up you see in the image gallery below was used to kick off the hostilities for Auto 69, Shanghai's youngest supercar club. We're not sure about the criteria that lead to this split, but one side of the club's main car room was occupied by five (there's no counting error here) Ferrari LaFerraris, a Porsche 918 Spyder and a McLaren P1, while the other side "only" accommodated a P1 and a 918. Oh, and by the way, we'll have to thank Primage for the pixel delight above.

With the hybrid hypercar obsession having been satisfied, the club also welcomed machines that rely solely on the suck-squeeze-bang-blow process to deliver their thrills. We're talking about contraptions as diverse as a Lexus LFA and a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 - since Affalterbach's six-wheeler would've probably been too mainstream for its company, an example touched by Mansory was selected for the occasion.

Since the Chinese aficionados we're discussing are just getting started, we expect to get our hands on more juicy velocity episodes from their side and we'll return with these as soon as we get out keyboards on them.

Meanwhile, we're inviting you to enjoy the colorful horsepower display in these photos. Come to think of it, Dubai had managed to steal the (car) show today thanks to the Dubai Police Bugatti Chiron rendering, so perhaps China felt the need to maintain a balance on our homepage. Well, that target had definitely been hit.
