21% Sales Boost for Husqvarna Bikes in 2012
As far as the end of September, Husqvarna dealerships sold no less that 7,355 bikes, and this accounts for a whopping 21% increase in comparison to the same data for the previous Year (6,079 units sold). Even more, from this total, 1,255 vehicles have been sold in September alone, making a beautiful autumn for Husqvarna.
It looks like the Swedish brand can really take off once more, this time under the BMW umbrella, despite the slight monthly decrease. The release of new models at the Intermot (Cologne, Germany) is likely to set new trends for Husqvarna, as the TR 650 Terra, TR 650 Strada and the new Nuda 900 with ABS bikes caused quite a stir among old fans. With Husqvarna paying more attention to the road motorcycles segment, we might see this brand coming back to its former glory.
As for the BMW bikes themselves, things are looking good: with a world market share of just over 11% and more than 25% in Germany alone, the Munich manufacturer has sold a total of 85,944 motorcycles and maxi scooters up to and including September. Even if the sales are 1.1% lower than what BMW had sold by this time last year, it seems like business is on a good, ascending trend, making up for the persistently difficult commercial environment.
