2018 Mercedes-Benz G-Class Spotted in Pair, Biggest Waste of Camouflage Ever

We all love the mighty G-Class, but let's face it, it's not because of the intricacies of its design that has stayed virtually unchanged for the past... since the model's first generation.
Given this piece of information, how egomaniac must we be to imagine that we will be the lucky ones to witness a dramatic change in the way the G-Wagen looks? Do we really think that the decision makers at Mercedes-Benz are going to tell the designers to put down their set squares and start using the French curves they had bought for them on the G-Class?

Since the answer to both of this question is a very determined "no," then why is Mercedes-Benz bothering to cover the 2018 G-Class in camouflage? In fact, here's this for an idea: the new G-Class would actually stand less of a chance of being recognized as such if it were showing up completely naked. Putting camouflage on the car is like advertising the fact you don't want people to see it. The old saying of hiding in plain sight might have yielded better results here.

As far as the other aspects of the car are concerned, we'd be much more curious to see what the new interior looks like, because rumors say it's going to be very different with even the E-Class name muttered. The G-Class is also expected to drop a few pounds, making the new car more fuel efficient, which is what all manufacturers are after these days.

As great as the Gelandewagen is off-road, it's handling on the flat surface of a road leaves a lot to be desired. It's wobbly and has a hard time hiding its significant height. The new model, besides being a little wider, will bring some more subtle improvements on this front which should help the G-Class feel less like it's trying to kill those inside on a twisty road.

There are more rumors surrounding the iconic Mercedes-Benz off-roader, but at this moment, that's all they are: rumors. More information should be coming in soon, as we're slowly but surely getting closer to its release date. As soon as we find out more, we'll let you know.
