Audi has brought the S member of its future A7 to the Nurburgring and we've got a monster spyshot gallery to prove it. However, don't make the mistake of labeling the 2018 Audi S7 as a "warm" model - this may be no RS7, but it certainly packs the tech bits required to qualify as a "hot" machine.
Despite the prototype maintaining the heavy camouflage it packed during its previous encounter with our lens, you can clearly spot some serious performance parts - we're talking about details such as the massive brake rotors or the quadruple exhaust setup, with the latter's generously-sized tips.

And while the cabin is also seriously cloaked, we can check out the thick steering wheel in the hands of the German engineer occupying the driver's seat.

As for the non-go-fast design details, the generous, supermodel-like mouth of the S7 seems to be fighting the coupe-ish roofline for our attention.

One aspect of the 2018 Audi S7 spied here that doesn't fit the sporty setup seems to be the generous body roll exhibited by the prototype, but we expect this detail to be part of the air suspension testing process.

This sighting is also a good opportunity to remind you that, back in April, Audi announced a few minor tweaks for the 2017 A7 line-up, but the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, which is shared with the RS7 (with the obvious downtune) remained untouched.

Speaking of which, with the 2017 Porsche Panamera 4S now using a new 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 delivering 440 hp, we could see the S7 steering clear of the V8 path and adopting a different version of this engine.

The second generation of the Audi S7 should land late next year, coming as a 2018 model, so we'll be here, waiting for the German to drop some of the camo so we can discuss its appearance properly.
