The DB11 and the AM-RB 001 are the future of Aston Martin. Without regard to the newcomers, the Vanquish as we know it today refuses to kick the bucket and make way for a successor.
The Aston Martin Vanquish will live on in the form of the limited-run Zagato. Other than it, the Vanquish will also evolve into the Vanquish S. Our team of carparazzi spied the even sportier Vanquish pootling around the Nurburgring and, from the looks of it, this bad boy will be a thriller in the twisties.

Before the next-generation Aston Martin Vanquish comes out to play with anything between 600 and 820 ponies from a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12, the 5.9-liter naturally aspirated V12 will soldier on under the hood of the Zagato and the Vanquish S. If my intuition is correct, the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S will mirror the output of the Zagato-ified coachbuilt special. In other words, the naturally aspirated V12 is good for 592 brake horsepower (600 PS).

From the styling standpoint, the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S features a redesigned front bumper that incorporates huge air intakes at its extremities and an aggressive lip spoiler. At the sides, this prototype wears larger side skirts than the regular Vanquish. As for the hind, this is where we find a humongous aerodynamic diffuser and no less than four exhaust outlets.

All in all, the Vanquish S isn’t a major departure from the car on which it is based on, but the go-faster bits and bobs give it its own personality. To be worthy of the S suffix, this thing is also expected to use more carbon fiber than the regular Vanquish. In plain English, it will be a lighter car. The carbon fiber diet will certainly pay dividend when the traffic gets light and the going gets twisty, which is jolly good news for those on the lookout for a sporty GT.

That being said, expect the Aston Martin Vanquish S to make its debut in 2017 for the 2018 model year. Also due for the 2018 model year is the next-generation Vantage, which has been confirmed to employ the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 from the Mercedes-AMG GT in the entry-level V8 Vantage.
