June 28 - this is the date you'll have to keep in mind for the unveiling of the 2017 Porsche Panamera. However, it seems Zuffenhausen doesn't want us to have a cruel summer, so it has already unleashed the second-generation Panamera in traffic.
The pair of images below, which come from Autojunk, show Porsche's new four-door in all its glory, with the tape covering a few details, such as the badges, feeling like it's not even there.

We'll quickly go over the move-along-nothing-to-see-here attitude of the man and woman occupying the front seats of the car, as we need to talk about the model being seen here.

While the carbon-ceramic brakes, hidden inside 21-inch wheels, could point out to a Turbo S, the tailpipes look more like they belong to a Panamera S. Nevertheless, we mustn't put too much trust into such details at this point.

As for the Turbo S mentioned above, this migght not make up for the bulk of sales, but its performance is extremely important for the Go! part of the car. For one thing, Porsche has already revelead the new Panamera will be able to lap the Nurburgring at Carrera GT pace.

While we usually kick off the tech talk in the engine compartment, we'll make an exception this time. That's because the Panamera the Second will mark the debut of Porsche's PDK II. And this time around we'll get eight ratios, while the already-impressive efficiency is boosted by around 30 percent.

At the base of the new line-up the Panamera will pack a single-turbo V6, while the Panamera S will use the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 we already know. The Turbo is next, replacing the twin-turbo 4.8-liter V8 with a new twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. The Turbo will allow the driver to control 550 hp and 567 lb-ft of twist, while being 30 percent more efficient than the model it replaces.

On the oil burning front, the V6 diesel will be joined by a V8 Diesel S model - the latter model borrows the new 4.0-liter engine from the Audi SQ7, which turns to an electric turbo, among others, to deliver at least 435 hp.

And while the exterior has generated split opinions so far, it's the cabin we need to pay attention to. We've already shown you bits of the interior, but we expect the new model to be considerably cozier than the one it replaces.

P.S.: We were kidding when we said Porsche doesn't want us to have a cruel summer.

Update: A fully naked 2017 Panamera Turbo S has leaked online, with interior pictures also on the menu.
