2017 MINI Countryman U.S. Pricing Kicks Off at $26,100

Having made its world debut at the end of October, MINI is preparing to start production of the second-generation Countryman at its plant in Oxford, the UK. Slated to arrive in the U.S. in March 2017, the newest MINI on the block will have a $26,100 sticker in its window. Too much, too little, you decide.

The MSRP applies for the entry-level Cooper trim level, which costs $22,750 for the 2016 model year. Then again, the 2017 Countryman is bigger, more premium, and more persuasive than its venerable predecessor. Excluding the $850 destination fee, the range includes the all-wheel-drive Cooper ALL4 (starting from $28,100), as well as two Cooper S variants: one with front-wheel-drive ($29,100), the other gifted with ALL4 all-wheel-drive ($31,100).

At the present moment, there’s no price available for the plug-in hybrid model. Fret not, though, because the MINI Cooper S E Countryman ALL4 is confirmed for a U.S. market launch in June 2017. As far as the oily bits are concerned, the Cooper makes do with 134 hp and 162 lb-ft. The Cooper S sweetens the deal with a better engine, churning out 189 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. A full-blooded JCW is set to arrive later on.

When it comes to standard features, BMW-owned MINI knows how the cookie crumbles in the premium segment. Hence, the Cooper is equipped from the get-go with a panorama sunroof, keyless entry, leatherette upholstery, 6.5-inch infotainment system, rear parking camera, automatic headlights and wipers, 17-inch alloys, and Siri Eyes Free. Countryman ALL4 models add heated seats, while the go-faster Cooper S adds 18-inch wheels, LED headlights and DRLs, and bolstered sport seats, among other goodies.

The MINI Countryman has been a top-selling model since it was first introduced in 2010 and we expect this new generation will be even more popular with existing owners, while also attracting new customers to the brand,” declared Thomas Felbermair, VP of MINI of the Americas.
