2017 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster Facelift Spied, Has SV Design Cues

Back in April, the carparazzi caught an Aventador facelift on camera with tons of camouflage on it. This time around, it seems as if our spy snappers have caught the Aventador Roadster.

Let’s start with the most pressing of questions: when will it debut? It’s hard to tell considering how secretive Lamborghini is. The soonest we could see the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador facelift in the flesh is the Paris Motor Show. The latest, on the other hand, is next year’s Geneva Motor Show. The fixed head coupe will be the first to make its outing, then the Aventador Roadster.

As you can see from the adjacent spy pics, every square inch of the 2017 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster has been meticulously camouflaged by the mad professors of Sant’Agata Bolognese. Look beyond the psychedelic motif and you’ll spot lots of SuperVeloce-inspired nods. The front fascia is remarkably similar the LP 750-4 SV Roadster, save for two extra air intakes.

The wheels are borrowed from the pre-facelifted LP 700-4 Roadster, while the rear end is a more tamed take on the SuperVeloce with the addition of a single center exhaust tip shrouding three exhaust pipes. If my eyes aren’t deceiving me, the two glass inserts that make up the engine cover are also different from those of the LP 700-4 Roadster. The final detail that pays a nod to the SV is the extra pair of air intakes located on top of the rear fenders.

And yes, a bump in power is also in the cards. The thing is, God only knows how many horsepower Lamborghini managed to squeeze from the 6.5-liter freely aspirated V12 engine. Between the Lamborghini Murcielago LP 640 and the Murcielago LP 670 SV is a difference of 30 PS (30 horsepower).

The Aventador LP 700-4 and Aventador LP 750-4 are separated by 50 PS (49 horsepower). If my intuition is correct, then the facelifted Lamborghini Aventador will boast as much as 740 PS (730 horsepower).
