It's that time of the year when we need to talk about Starbucks red cups and Macaulay Culkin movies. Which also means that there's going to be another Neiman Marcus special edition car sold through the annual Christmas Book.
We've seen Ferraris, Aston Martins, and Maseratis do this job. So what can Infiniti offer? Only the sexiest coupe it's ever built, the Q60 Red Sport 400.
Mind you, every version of the Q60 looks great, but Neiman Marcus can only have the best in its catalog. Exclusivity has a big part to play, so only 50 examples are going to be made. Each one will set you back $63,000 or about $10,000 more than the cheapest Red Sport 400 with rear-wheel-drive. Of that money, Infiniti will donate $1,000 to 'The Heart of Neiman Marcus Foundation' with each purchase.
It's worth pointing out that Infiniti's most powerful coupe packs a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 capable of putting down 400 HP and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque. The near-3900lbs car has been clocked at 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, so it's fast enough for most folks.
So why would you pay BMW M3 money for one? For starters, because it's going to be a lot rarer than any Bimmer, and you can tell that thanks to the special glossy paint color. It's called Solar Mica, and the live photos we have from the Los Angeles Auto Show suggest it's an earthy metallic tone.
The designers used dark chrome throughout and added small carbon fiber touches like the rear wing. The Red Sport 400 also comes standard with big wheels and an impressive-looking exhaust system, so there are no problems in those departments. As for the cabin, it gets white leather sports seats, Silver Optic Fiber trim, a Bose premium audio system and Infiniti's InTouch infotainment system. A matching luggage set is added to each of the 50 coupes.
"The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book is an iconic part of the holiday season for luxury brands," said Allyson Witherspoon, Director, Marketing Communications and Media at INFINITI Americas. "We were very excited for this exclusive Q60 to be the Fantasy Gift and worked closely with Neiman Marcus to bring it to life."
