2017 Genesis G90 Flagship Detailed, Has Most Standard Kit in Its Class

Meet the Genesis G90, also known as the EQ900 in Korea. Well, you've probably met it already at the Detroit Auto Show, but now, the US launch is happening.

The company organized a press event in Vancouver, Canada, as well as releasing a long-winded press release. The bad news is that we still don't know what this thing cost. But considering all the features it will have as standard, it's not going to be cheap.

The G90 is designed to take on the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes S-Class. That means patriotic Korean businessmen have lots of room to stretch in the back. But will Americans buy it too? We've just seen one of the Kardashians crash a Rolls-Royce, so our celebs aren't big on chauffeur services.

But maybe they'll like more powerful engines or having lots of features. The G90 will be available with an all-new 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 365 hp. Also, you could also order the 5.0-liter, 420 hp V8. Both are fitted with an 8-speed automatic developed in-house. Just like the regular Genesis, the H-TRAC AWD system will be available as an option.

When it goes on sale, the G90 will come with full-LED headlights+taillights, adaptive dampers from ZF, a high-end Lexicon audio system, and a Helmholtz two-piece hollow wheel design, which features an integral sound absorption chamber for the standard 19-inch wheels.
