The C3 story started in 2002. In 2009, Citroen followed up with the second (and current) generation. Towards the end of 2016, the French automaker will rejuvenate the C3 for the third time. These are the first official photos of the 2017 Citroen C3 on the web, one day before you should've seen them.
Coming courtesy of the peeps at cocoricauto, what we have here is the smaller-but-just-as-cute-and-funky brother of the Citroen C4 Cactus. Dimension-wise, the all-new Citroen C3 is 3.99 meters long, 1.75 meters wide, and 1.47 meters high. In terms of wheelbase, we are dealing with 2.54 meters. To put it into perspective, the wheelbase of the current Citroen C3 measures 2.46 meters. The Citroen C4 Cactus, on the other hands, has the upper hand at 2,595 millimeters.

Boot capacity is 300 liters (10.59 cubic feet) with the rear seats in place, while the turning circle of 10.7 meters should make for easy navigation in congested cities such as Paris. Other than the standard airbump panels on the doors, the all-new-for-2017 Citroen C3 will be available in nine exterior colors for the bodywork. As per the cited publication, the exterior will be complemented by three roof finishes.

At the time of writing, we’re not sure if this feature will be standard or optional, but the third-generation C3 will debut something called ConnectedCam. Cocoricauto explains that this is the fancy way of describing an onboard camera that can take pictures and videos of up to twenty seconds at a time. In the case of a crash, the ConnectedCam fires up automatically to capture everything on video.

Other goodies Citroen will bestow upon the all-new C3 come in the form of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone mirroring, blind spot monitoring, as well as lane departure warning. Expect to find out everything there is to know about the 2017 Citroen C3 tomorrow, immediately after the veils have been removed.
