Even though the 2016 Chevrolet Volt hasn’t arrived at dealerships in all 50 U.S. states yet, the golden bowtie decided that the time is right to make the second-generation Volt better for the 2017 model year. 2016MY customers shouldn’t fret because 2017 Chevrolet Volt changes and updates are small-scale.
Nevertheless, we have to give it to the manufacturer for what it came up with for the 2017 Chevrolet Volt because those tiny changes and updates are dearly welcomed. First of all, the Volt is going to get Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Automatic Braking. Also, the hybrid hatchback will be compliant with the Tier 3 Vehicle Emission and Fuel Standards Program.

The what? The Environmental Protection Agency describes Tier 3 as part of an approach to reduce the impacts of motor vehicles on air quality and public health. The Tier 3 program’s mantra is to reduce tailpipe and evaporative emissions, as well as to lower the sulfur content of gasoline. As some of you might already know, H2SO4 is used in petroleum refining to give isooctane. The latter is a compound that raises the octane rating of gasoline.

So the 2017 Chevrolet Volt is safer and more friendly to us and the environment compared to the 2016 model year. Anything else? For the last update on the list, the exterior color palette gains Citron Green Metallic. At the present moment, all we know from the RPO code of this paint job (GA1) is that availability will be extremely limited. Citron Green Metallic will be available for both trim levels.

In terms of standard equipment, nothing has changed over the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. 10 airbags, 5 passenger seating, 17-inch aluminum wheels, Regen on Demand, LED low-beam headlamps, automatic climate control, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment with an 8-inch touchscreen, OnStar 4G LTE with Wi-Fi hotspot, a parking camera, and leather on the steering wheel are what you get with the 2017 Chevrolet Volt LT.

Pricing will stay put at $25,670 after the full $7,500 federal tax credit.
