2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Spied Playing the Snow

This isn't the first time we have a close encounter with the C-Class Coupe model from Mercedes-Benz. However, this is the first time when we see it playing in heavy snow in Northern Europe.

Apparently, Mercedes-Benz wants its car to perform on any terrain, be it in all-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive guise. We're all up for that but what we want to know more is how this car looks like.

That's what attracts most people to a Coupe, and that's what will make or break this model. The Sedan model is already a big hit, and we know how it drives, so it's only normal to be curious about the styling of the two-door version.

The details about what the car will bring to the market are pretty sketchy at the moment. According to Gorden Wagener, the styling won't be the only thing that sets the four-door and two-door cars apart.

He said in an interview that it drives better than it looks. If the S-Class Coupe is any indicator, we'll have to reserve judgement until we get behind the wheel.

Under the sheet metal, we'll be getting the MRA platform, just like the rest of the C-Class range. As for the engine range, don't expect big surprises. The 2-liter turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with 243 HP will probably be the best choice, hidden under the C300 nameplate.

The C450 AMG Sport model will use the same 367 HP 3-liter V6 as on the sedan while the C400 will be using the 333 HP alternative with the same architecture and displacement.

What we're waiting for is the C63 AMG model that will take on the M4. This one will use the new 4-liter twin-turbo V8 from its AMG GT brother tuned to make 475 HP in the standard guise and 510 HP in the S version. Compared to the 431 HP or the Bimmer, things seem pretty disproportionate.

Expect the C-Class Coupe to be launched at Frankfurt later this year and run up against the 4 Series range as soon as it comes out.
