The launch of the production version 2016 Honda CBR250RR is closing in. This teaser video surfaced the Internet recently, and it shows the high-performance small-displacement bike ready to fire up its cylinders and put a big smile on some lucky owners.
A short teaser video, appearing to be made by an official Indonesian Honda dealership, has surfaced the web, and it looks ready to hit the market later this fall. The bike generated a lot of interest in the ASEAN part of the globe so we’re expecting it to be available there at first, following to hit Europe and other markets later or next year.

The video doesn’t reveal much information on the new CBR250RR, but we can tell you it will come with a single front disk brake, LED daytime running lights and stoplights, as well as ABS, which will be offered as standard equipment in Europe according to latest regulations.

Judging by its competitors, the KTM RC250, Yamaha YZF-R25 and the Kawasaki Ninja 250, the Honda CBR250RR’s newly developed 250cc parallel-twin should develop between 30 and 37 hp.

However, the bike is supposed to be sold in Europe and North America too, so Honda might have to come up with a beefed up model to rival the likes of Yamaha’s R3, KTM’s RC390 or Kawasaki’s Ninja 300. No word on those so far, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Being a step forward from the low-cost CBR250R, the new high-performance model will come with many high-specced parts like the USD front suspension, rear performance mono-shock, and might even feature a couple riding modes along with traction control settings. Although the bike is intended for beginner riders, it’s still best suited for the track where such settings come in handy.

Considering all these features, its sharp looks, and the small price tag, it’s quite easy to say proper fun can be had on small displacement bikes.
