This year we attended the Gumball 3000 Rally to see everything firsthand and let me tell you, this editor is still tired from the experience. It’s all parties and driving, and not everyone is cut out for it. As it turns out, next year all of these things will happen in Japan.

The party is still going on in Las Vegas as I’m writing this article, the convoy reaching its last checkpoint where they will spend two days partying non-stop. After leaving from Stockholm, passing through Oslo, Copenhagen, crossing Germany, reaching Amsterdam and flying to Reno, the cars have driven through San Francisco, Los Angeles and are now reaching Las Vegas.

That’s the itinerary chosen by Maximillion Cooper, the man that organizes this crazy ‘rally’ every year. Well, at the Amsterdam party, this one editor managed to find out where next year’s Gumball will take place and yes, it’s exotic: Japan.

The cities that will be crossed during the trip haven’t been disclosed yet, and I think that nobody knows them yet, not even Max. Judging by the discussion I had, my guess would be that Japan has just been decided on, the rest of the details to be set up in the following months.

My guess is that there will be a US stage as well, but that’s just a presumption at the moment. It will be interesting to see how the Japanese people react to the Gumball though as the event was never before held in the Asian country. Let’s go!

UPDATE: it seems like our initial source was wrong. As per Maximillion Cooper himself, next year's Gumball 3000 Rally will roll from Dublin to Istanbul.
