Breaking news from Mustang6G.com: Ford Racing, those lads that breath motorsport and only drink high-octane for breakfast will sell you a so-called 2016 Road Race Prepared Mustang if you’re the type who’s prepared to pay $89,995 for one unit. If this placeholder order got your attention, let’s start analyzing the intel that’s currently available.
This mysterious 2016 Ford Racing Road Race Prepared Mustang is, as the name suggest, an even more hardcore muscle car than the already bonkers 2016 Shelby GT350R Mustang. That’s what we hope it is, considering the CTSC-spec Mustang has been just confirmed by Multimatic Motorsports to debut this March at Sebring. Let us dwell even deeper...

As the tech notes of the placeholder order tell, we are informed that target availability for the 2016 Ford Racing Road Race Prepared Mustang is the first quarter of 2016, which is a year from now on. The parts listing also reads that the “Ford Racing road race Mustangs are factory-built race cars, ready for track days and road racing in a number of SCCA and NASA classes.” For $89,995 a pop, that is!

Based on this bit of information, the Mustang6G boys made the right connection - it sounds very similar to what the Blue Oval’s skunkworks were doing with the Boss 302S, an entry-level purpose built road racing ‘Stang for SCCA / NASA classes. Furthermore,“no specifications, pricing or vehicle name information is available at this time.” Boo and hiss!

Anyway you look at it, it’s easy to figure out what Ford Racing is cooking up for Sunday track hero drivers and more professional racing junkies. Last but not least, the placeholder order suggest that anyone interested in buying one should as his or her nearest Ford dealer to enter a placeholder by using part number M-FR500-B302S. B302S is, as you also figured out, another tell-tale sign of what's in store for us.
