Chevrolet previously told us that ordering and pricing for the 2016 Camaro will be announced in the third quarter. August or September will see that announcement being made, but until then, we have an order guide to share with you guys.
Available as a PDF here, the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro order guide holds details we were and weren’t expecting from the sixth generation of the model. Let’s start with the surprises, shall we? Available in 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, and 2SS formats, the Camaro coupe gets the reconfigurable display as standard starting with the 1SS. As for the 2SS, it’s surprising that the range-topping trim comes with few options to choose from.
A drawback lies with the 1LT and 2LT - these four and six-cylinder babies aren’t available with a limited-slip diff if you opt for the 8-speed automatic in the detriment of the stick shift. Only SSs can be enhanced with a limited-slip diff in 8-speed automatic guise. And now for more positive surprises.
Blacked out bowties. That’s right! You can now get black bowties to enhance the visual drama of the already badass sixth-gen Camaro. Heavy-duty engine and brake cooling, a rear differential cooler (standard on the 1SS), folding rear seats, wireless charging for your smartphone, a lot of hidden gems can be found in the Chevrolet Camaro’s order guide.
Did you notice the line that reads “Gold illuminated front bowtie emblem?” That will look wicked at night, no doubt about it! Disappointingly, customers cannot match the Hyper Blue paint job with the available red upholstery, nor can they opt for the adaptive suspension on four and six-cylinder models.
