The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro debuted half a month ago, yet the golden bowtie is already putting some effort into bringing the #CamaroSix to the streets. What better way of marketing a new-gen V8 muscle car than displaying it in the flesh at a Chevrolet Camaro enthusiast meetings?
On May 30th, 2015, the 11th annual F-Body Meet and Greet took place in Milford, Michigan. It’s just a 60-mile drive from Lansing - the production stomping ground of the Gen 6 Camaro - so it was expected for GM to take one of their newest offerings and showcase it to Camaro enthusiasts in Milford.

The right man with the right camera phone was at the right place and the right time to capture the all-new-for-2016 Camaro out in the wild. In the adjacent video, we have a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS painted Bright Yellow. Vector in the 20-inch black-painted aluminum wheels and you have yourself a rather neat machine.

Being an SS means that we’re also dealing with black-painted hood vents, horizontal LED daytime running lights, a blacked-out front grille and a spoiler unique to the SS model. Some people may say that visuals aren’t that different from the fifth-gen Chevrolet Camaro. You know what? If it ain’t broke, why fix it? The Gen 5 is a success story, outselling the S197 Mustang (and S550 Mustang) easy-peasy.

And then there’s the central piece of the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS - the LT1 small-block V8 and its 6.2 liters of thunder. Basically the same motor that powers the C7 Corvette Stingray, the mill delivers 455 HP and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm) of torque via a 6-speed manual or 7-speed auto.

The LS3 V8 still is fabulous, but the LT1 has a certain way of turning gas into bangs and beautiful noises. Check out the glorious 1st gear burble produced by it, aurally dominating two fifth-gen Camaro SS models.
