2016 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible Drops It Like It’s Hot

If you can ignore the pixel mania and focus on the ragtop pony, all is right with the world. On second thought, pony isn’t the right word to describe the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible featured below because of its engine. It’s not often that Chevy shoehorns the LT1 V8 from the Corvette in the engine bay of a Camaro. Moreover, 455 HP and 455 lb-ft (617 Nm) of torque will obliterate main rival Mustang GT.

At the simple touch of a button, whether the Camaro is stationary or on the move, the fabric roof will go down to offer open-air thrill and a sense of adventure. However, try to visualize the Camaro coupe and the Camaro ragtop side by side. Yep, the fabric roof appears to be more low-slung than the tintop, robbing head space for taller drivers. The sun visors also appear to be rather small, but a bigger problem is represented by the back seats of the Camaro.

If purgatory had an automotive equivalent, that would be to fit a tall adult in the back seat of a 2016 Chevy Camaro Convertible. Bad points aside, would you look at that portrait of madness and attitude! If anything, the ragtop is more dramatically styled than the Camaro coupe. The pumped-up rear wheel arches coupled to the windshield rake angle and the tall beltline add to a side profile look that’s nothing short of eye candy.
