2016 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Facelift Photos Leaked

It might not be the production version of the Giulia monster sedan everyone wants, but Alfa Romeo has decided to give the Giulietta compact hatchback an update. We believe these photos are official ones and are part of the press statement the company has prepared for Geneva.

There was never anything wrong with the Giulietta's body. In fact, it was always much better looking than its German rivals. Not that much has changed, but the 2016 model features a new front bumper, tweaked headlights and superior LED taillights. If you think the white one looks good, that's because it's the Veloce model that replaces the outgoing QV, but we'll talk more about that later.

The new Giulia will be revealed in full tomorrow, February 24. Prices will reportedly start at €22,200 in Italy, for which you will get a 1.4-liter engine rated at 120 horsepower. If that sounds like too much money for so little power, know that the Alfa DNA switch, Q2 electronic differential, and a 5-inch touchscreen will all be standard.

The options list will include dual-zone automatic climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, aluminum pedal covers, 6.5-inch Uconnect RadioNav Dab infotainment system, 9-speaker BOSE stereo, and power lumbar control up front. If you want more, go for the Giulietta Super.

The middle trim level will give you access to 150 and 170 horsepower versions of the 1.4-liter gasoline engine plus two big turbodiesels (2.0 JTDm rated at 150 and 175 PS). Lastly, we'll be dealing with a 240 PS Giulietta Veloce that will replace the QV. It will have the same 1750 TBi four-banger turbo as before, still connected to a dual-clutch transmission and 18-inch alloy wheels.

As you can see from the photos below, the Veloce model features one exhaust pipe on either side with a black diffuser in the middle. Up front, the middle portion of the bumper is blacked out to make everything look like a giant gaping mouth. There's a subtle red stripe and tiny fog lights on either side.
