The Worldcrosser package is available at Yamaha dealers and can be ordered separately, or installed ex-works (ex-dealer) on a new Super Tenere bike. We saw the Worldcrosser version of the 2015 Super Tenere in Germany for €14.195 ($) and what you get is worth the money.

The basic touring / off-road trim can be bettered

Going Worldcrosser will provide you with very good looking carbon fiber side panels with aluminium mesh protectors for an even more exclusive attire.

Carbon fiber frame protectors are also part of the package, and so are the carbon fork protectors replacing the standard plastic ones.

In the shields department, the 2015 Yamaha Super Ténéré Worldcrosser introduces a drive shaft shield for rutted or rocky terrain, a strong skid plate and a rear brake protector. All elements are made from anodized aluminium which also looks good and is durable.

A special sticker set adorns the upgraded bike, and tank protection pads are also supplied with the Worldcrosser for increased grip and control when seated or in a standing riding position.

The bike can also be upgraded with multiple accessories, such as an Akrapovic silencer, fog lamp kits, luggage systems, engine guards and more. If you want to go all the way to the top, choosing the XT1200ZE version will also provide electronically adjustable suspensions, topcase rack, heated grips and so on.

Both the standard and the E versions of the 2015 Yamaha XT1200Z have the same tech specs, putting you in charge of an 1199cc liquid-cooled injected parallel twin engine which can produce 112 hp at 7250 rpm and 117 Nm (86.2 lb-ft) of torque at 6000 rpm.

The 6-speed manual transmission used a shaft final drive, and the engine also comes with Yamaha D-Mode mappings, a three-mode traction control, intelligent unified braking system plus ABS, and wire spoked rims shod with tubeless dual-sport tires.

Even if the seat is adjustable, the riders have to be tall and well-built to handle the 2015 Yamaha Super Ténéré as the 205mm (8") ground clearance and 261 kg (576 lb) wet weight kind of speak for themselves.
