2015 Yamaha Dealer Built Winners Unveiled, the V-MAX Needs to Hit the Street

When it comes to the four winners of the 2015 Yamaha Dealer Built contest, it's rather hard to decide how one should treat the subject. Such a write-up could span across a dozen pages or more and still fail to touch all the details worth mentioning.

Or one could just provide generic info, some links to other machines that have been built this year and let the photos and the video do the talking. As a long piece would definitely be hard to read and the TLDR (too long, didn't read) syndrome is real, we'll just stick with the latter option.

There are plenty of photos to tell the story of these bikes, and the videos are also going to provide you with quite a lot of interesting inside info on each motorcycle. And as the videos also feature the builders themselves, it's far easier to understand what caused them to make certain decisions.

We won't even try to hide our favorite machine, and you probably guessed it right from the title. The V-MAX looks stunning, and not only because of the speedblock thing.

There are only a handful of V-MAX bikes with a cowl out there and retrofitting one to a modern bike has good odds to fail. Still, the French dealer Liberty Yam nailed things perfectly.

German dealership Motorrad Klein got the XJR1300 prize after delivering a bike with design cues and graphics that harked back to Superbike hero Noriyuki Haga. The Portuguese guys at Yamaha Motor 7 won the XV950 category with a "scramblerized" machine, while the SR400-based custom cafe racer crafted by Motor Madrid in Spain was the last winner.

Now, we can only hope that Yamaha finds enough sense in creating modding kits for these bikes and will have them on sale next year. Until then, you still have the My Garage App to preview your ideal custom Yamaha bike.
