2015 Volkswagen Jetta Facelift to Debut at 2014 New York Auto Show

Readers with a long memory will remember that back in autumn of last year, we were not just examining a facelift for the Polo, but also one for the Jetta sedan, both cars being spotted in California, wearing camouflage over their noses.

The Polo facelift has already come out and is available in Germany (to order), but the Jetta has yet to be revealed. That's because Volkswagen's humble sedan is scheduled for an April debut at the New York Auto Show. The information comes from Automotive News and seems reliable considering VW's time schedules.

We don't have any leaked images about the new model year Jetta sedan, but we expect a similar design to the Mexican-made 2015 Golf, the Mk7. The biggest change will be in the lower grille of the car, which will seem longer thanks to uninterrupted lines. Of course, updates to the headlights, taillights and grille will also be made.

In America, the Jetta has just revealed a brand new 1.8 TSI turbo engine with 170, replacing the old 2.5-liter and offering improved torque and refinement. It will be interesting to see if the base model's 2-liter engine will finally be replaced by a more competent 1.4 TSI.
