So far it looks like the bike will not be changed dramatically, as Triumph retains the successful 3-cylinder engine architecture, with a Multipoint sequential electronic fuel injection with twin injectors, forced air induction and SAI. The 675cc mill produces 128 horsepower @ 12,500 rpm and a peak torque of 74Nm (54.5 lb-ft), which should make the 169 kg (373 lbs dry) bike quite fun to ride.

Being an R-spec machine, the 2015 Daytona 657R is equipped with an Öhlins 43mm upside down NIX30 fork, complemented by an Öhlins twin tube piggyback rear damper, with a comprehensive adjustment array for both ends of the bike. Dual 310mm rotors in the front and a 220mm one in the rear are squeezed by Brembo calipers, with switchable ABS.

The frame is derived from the racing program, with an adjustable pivot position for the swingarm, rolling with 5-spoke cast wheels. The manual 6-speed close-ratio transmission was retained, just like multi-plate slipper clutch.

Triumph knows you’re going to take this bike to the track, so the license plate holder and the turn signals are easily removable. At the same time, the rider can program the rev lights manually, so they would prompt a gear change more suitable to your riding style. Clutchless gear changes will add even more racing adrenaline to your outings, both on the streets and on the track, while the optional tire pressure monitor sensors will keep you informed and safe.

In the UK the 2015 Triumph Daytona 675R ABS retails for £10,649, which is $18,180 or €13,445.
