Despite getting up close and personal with the facelifted 2015 Toyota Auris a few months ago in Geneva, Toyota kept some details undisclosed regarding the car's engine lineup.

What the facelifted Auris had to offer in Geneva consisted of a downsized 1.2-liter turbo mill delivering 115 HP and 185 Nm (136 lb-ft) of torque produced between 1,500 and 4,000 RPM. According to Toyota, the unit would only drink around 4.7 l per 100 km, the equivalent of 50 mpg in the United States.

But while this engine looks like a decent choice for the 2015 Auris, the Japanese are offering other options in terms of under-the-hood bangers.

Another novelty is the 1.6-liter diesel engine coming to replace the old the 2.0-liter unit. The mill offers 112 HP and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque between 1,750 and 2,250 rpm and only sips 4.1 l/100 km (68.9 mpg UK, 57.3 mpg US).

Although performance figures don't count too much on such a car, with this engine under the hood, the Auris checks the 0 - 100 km/h sprint in 10.5 seconds, before reached a top speed of 190 km/h (118 mph).

Last but not least, Toyota is offering a hybrid powertrain for the Auris, and for good reason: the Auris Hybrid handles more than half of all Auris sales across Western Europe. For the 2015 Auris Hybrid, Toyota went for the 136 HP 1.8-liter hybrid config. It offers an average fuel economy of 3.5 l/100 km (80.7 mpg UK, 67.2 mpg US), with CO2 emissions of just 79 g/km.

Other than that, clients can have the 2015 Auris in hatchback and touring sports egos and 'a design that adds stance and prestige', according to Toyota officials.
