Yesterday we showed you the most revealing shots yet with the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe (C217), but now it's time to check out a pre-prototype sporting the optional AMG bodykit.
Keep in mind that the model depicted in the following photo gallery isn't a true AMG model, having the same technical specs of the future S 500 Coupe and making us wonder why is Mercedes-Benz testing the same type of car with a different exterior.
Spec-wise, we have a feeling that this is in fact the S 500 Coupe, powered by the twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 found in its S-Class W222 brother.
Developing 455 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb ft) of torque, the Coupe should be able to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7 seconds, which would make it faster than a supercharged CL 55 AMG (C215).
Design-wise, we can see a front bumper that looks aerodynamically-sculpted with the same stylistic features found on the S-Class W222 AMG bodykit.
Despite sporting the same big “A” when seen from the front, the optional AMG bodykit will be quite different than the one on the S 63 AMG Coupe, which will look more inline with the one found on the E 63 AMG W212 facelift.
