Shortly before releasing their Evoque, Range Rover pulled a pretty interesting stunt, wrapping the test vehicles in a camouflage that was rather fancy than concealing. The Brits have now done it again, this time for the upcoming Range Rover Sport RS.
Our spy photographers have recently snapped the Range Rover Sport RS prototypes dressed in a fashionable camo. The wrap also seems to include some sort of an Easter Egg, but we couldn’t decipher this - you can take a look at the left side side skirt if you want to try our hand at this.
The new camouflage allows us to get a better look at the Range Rover Sport RS’ body kit. The list of visual goodies is, of course, topped by the generous air intakes up front and the massive tailpipe cutouts at the back.
The Range Rover Sport RS is expected to borrow the Jaguar XKR-S’ 5.0-liter supercharged V8, delivering 542 hp (550 PS). We’ve recently had a go in a standard Range Rover Sport Supercharged and, among others, found a pleasing soundtrack, so we are expecting the RS to deliver plenty of aural treats, such as an engaging machine gun-like overrun sound.
Along with the extra muscle, the RS version will include a few tech tweaks. These range from a stiffer suspension to Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. Nonetheless, we are very curious to see how the engineers tweak the stability control - on the standard Range Rover Sport supercharge, the understeer is present, but the RS could allow its rear end to be more present during cornering.
