MV Agusta has unveiled not one, but two RR-badged models based on the Brutale platform. Welcome the 2015 MV Agusta Brutale 800RR, the base model roadster for those who feel like some extra horsies are always good.
The core of the 2015 Brutale 800RR is the proven new three-cylinder engine loaded in the iconic sporty truss chassis, but the new bike brings in some extra grit to the street game. In-line triples are not exactly a new presence in the business, but this time the Varese engine means business, as it has gained 15 horsepower, and can now produce 140 hp at 13,100 revs. The torque figures have also been improved, with the RR reaching 86 Nm (63.4 lb-ft) at 10,100 revs, 5 Nm (3.7 lb-ft) more than the initial version was capable of.

MVICS 2.0 at play

The 2015 Brutale 800 RR is delivered with the MVICS 2.0 (Motor&Vehicle Integrated Control System) electronic “brain”. This ensures perfect, precise control over the engine performance, while at the same time allowing the skilled, connoisseur rider to create his or her own profiles and thus squeeze the last bit of sporty spirit out of the bike.

Brutale 800 RR arrives with Quickshifter EAS 2.0 for both upshifting and downshifts, a premiere with MV Agusta machinery. The system is complemented by a slipper clutch, 8-level traction control, Bosch 9 Plus ABS with Brembo brakes and RLM (Rear wheel Lift-Up Mitigation).

The wheels of the 2015 Brutale 800 RR are probably the most obvious element to distinguish it from the Dragster 800 RR. Unlike the wire-spoked ones of the former, the Brutale RR has cast aluminum wheels, the trademark of modern sport bikes.

With a dry weight of 168 kg (370 lb) the 2015 MV Agusta Brutale 800 RR will surely be a blast to ride, even though this is a guilty pleasure devised for solo riding only, as the passenger seat is anything but a safe place when the throttle is twisted with a heavy hand.

The 2015 Brutale 800 RR will be offered in tow liveries, Pearl Shock Red/Pearl Ice White and Metallic Avio Grey/Carbon Metallic Black, with the European (Italy) price tag of €13.980.
