2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Spied Again, This Time in Europe

Well, well, well, now what do we have here? Our spy photographers spotted the Mitsubishi Outlander facelift for the second time. On this occasion, the almost production-ready 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander was seen in Germany, but with a little bit less cladding than the test vehicle spotted in the U.S.

Expected to make its worldwide debut before the end of the current year, the Japanese carmaker is hard at work fine tuning the seven seater crossover SUV. Compared to the prototype caught on film undergoing hot weather testing in the States, this Euro-spec pre-production Mitsubishi Outlander facelift is wrapped with less camouflage blankets.

On this occasion, the headlights are more visible and there's obvious proof of a slight redesign with the cluster's internals. Both the upper and lower front grilles seem to be fitted this time around. Although heavily obscured, the way the camo blanket wraps around them hints that both elements have been visually enhanced. But there's even more sauce.

Now we can definitely tell that the lower door trim pieces are similar in design by the ones adorning the Renault Clio and Captur, while a certain photo included in the gallery below reveals a little bit of the interior, including the Rockford Fosgate touchscreen infotainment system we already know from the outgoing model. At the rear we identified fog lights that are different from the current units, while the tail lights retain their shape, but lose the cool clear design in favor of traditional red clusters.

The front and rear bumpers have also got a stick from the botox needle, while the 4WD lettering on the rear window is obvious evidence that this particular test mule benefits from four-wheel drive. When it will hit showrooms later this year or in the first few months of 2015, the updated Mitsubishi Outlander's engine lineup will likely benefit from minor enhancements in terms of fuel economy and emissions, including the four-pot gasoline and diesel mills, as well as the the 224 horsepower 3-liter MIVEC V6.
