Both Edmund's and Autocar have reported in recent months that Mercedes-Benz is working on a new version of the C-Class W205, apart from the already known sedan, wagon, coupe and convertible.
According to the aforementioned publications, the Stuttgart maker will bring back the “SportCoupe” nameplate for a five-door version of their latest C-Class, which should compete with the not-very-successful Audi A5 Sportback and the recently-launched and also not-very-successful BMW 3-Series Gran Turismo.
If it's not obvious by now, we actually don't agree with the two media outlets, since it's rather hard to believe that Mercedes-Benz would try to copy two car models that aren't exactly selling like hot cakes.
Either way, known “automotive manipulator” Theophilus Chin put his creative skills to work and made three renderings of how such a Mercedes-Benz C-Class version might look like.
While we don't agree with the probability of the actual car being launched, we did find the rendering quite nice-looking. Now if only Theophilus Chin would render a four-door coupe version of the new C-Class, which in our opinion would be more probable and certainly much better-looking than an elongated hatchback.
