This is the second fanboy specification battle between the upcoming 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 and the outgoing C-Class W204, only this time we will pit the C 200 W205 against the C 200 W204.
As with the previous comparison, we will only talk about the difference in specifications between the two generations, as much of the numbers are identical courtesy of the models using the same engine.
- The C 200 W205 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.5 seconds with the six-speed manual, while the current C 200 W204 does it in 8.2 seconds with the same gearbox. When fitted with the 7G-Tronic Plus, the C 200 W205 accelerates until 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.3 seconds, while the C 200 W204 does it in 7.8 seconds.
- With the six-speed manual, the C 200 W205 has a minimum combined fuel consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 km (44.4 mpg), while the C 200 W204 needs at least 6.6 liters per 100 km (35.6 mpg). Equipped with the 7G-Tronic Plus, the C 200 W205 has a minimum combined fuel consumption of 5.3 liters per 100 km, while the C 200 W204 needs a minimum of 6.4 liters per 100 km (36.8 mpg).
- The C 200 W205 weighs in at 1445 kg (3186 pounds), while the C 200 W204 weighs 1500 kg (3,307 pounds).
