After the 2015 Mazda6 facelift surfaced on the web earlier this week, its bigger brother – the CX-5, followed with pretty much the same visual treatment. When the Los Angeles Auto Show opens its doors on November 18th, not only the two previously mentioned will be there, but the all-new CX-3 as well.
As a brief reminder, the Mazda CX-3 is the pucker up version of the new 2, following in the footsteps of what Renault did with the Captur / Clio. The B-segment crossover is a hot seller these days and it seems like the Japanese carmaker really wants a little piece of the pie, but only time will tell if the CX-3 will be a better proposition than main rival Nissan Juke.

With the 2015 Mazda6 facelift covered in a previous writing, let's move on with the revised CX-5. Expected to go on sale in the first months of next year, the updated compact crossover SUV from Mazda is a far better proposition than before in terms of aesthetics. Even before the CX-5 was quite a looker thanks to its Kodo Soul of Motion design language, but this version 2.0 of the Kodo language is proper eye candy.

The leaked brochure informs the 2015 Mazda CX-5 is kitted with Adaptive LED Headlights
It appears like the mid-cycle refresh of the 6 also gets the glare-free LED high beam illumination system. By the way, did you know that Mazda is the first Japanese automaker to offer such a feature on its passenger cars? Well, now you know. Besides the revamped headlights and taillights, there's also a new design of alloy wheels and restyled fog lights in store for the facelifted CX-5 crossover.

The front grille is pretty much similar to that of the 2015 Mazda6, but we're not complaining because it looks both edgy and elegant at the same time, a visual trick that works well with the character of both models. Unfortunately, the leaked images from WorldScoop.ForumPro.fr don't feature any interior shots, but as it was the case before, do expect similar updates as those of the 2015 Mazda6.

Lastly, nobody except Mazda can tell you what upgrades have been operated under the hood. Our hunch is that the powertrain options of yesteryear will be carried over, albeit with fine tuning on efficiency. That means SkyActiv-G petrol and SkyActiv-D turbo diesel powerplants ranging from 2.0 to 2.5 liters in displacement, with tranny options coming in the form of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
