2015 Lexus GS 450h Adds F Sport Styling, Performance

Lexus has already come up with a stylish new design language to make its cars look more exciting, and more recently, it has been spicing up its hybrid lineup of vehicles. In recent years, Lexus has added its aggressive F Sport styling and handling package to hybrid versions of the RX crossover and CT hatchback, and now it will be adding an F Sport version to the 2015 GS 450h.

Lexus has not released images of the 2015 Lexus GS 450h F Sport, but we’re sure it will look a lot like the current GS 350 F Sport, which is shown above. This car stands out with its meaner look thanks to the sportier front and rear fascias, and the GS 450h F Sport will also be adding staggered-width, 19-inch wheels. Inside, Lexus promises an equally posh cabin upgraded with perforated leather seats, 16-way driver’s seat, a black headliner and lots of aluminum trim.

Not that it needed any, but there were no changes were made to the powertrain of the GS 450h, which means the car is still powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 and hybrid drive system that produces a total system output of 338 hp. That’s a good amount of power for a mid-size luxury sedan, but it still manages to return surprising fuel economy estimates of 29 mpg city, 34 mpg highway and 31 mpg combined. The 2015 Lexus GS 450h F Sport does add bigger brakes and the advanced Lexus Dynamic Handling System four-wheel steering control system improving the car’s handling performance.

Aside from the new F Sport package, the 2015 GS 450h sedan will add a couple other upgrades for the new model year. All GS 450h sedans will now ride on new 18-inch, split-spoke wheels, and the interior is being updated to include a 12.3-inch multimedia display screen. No word yet as to how much of a premium the F Sport package will add to the GS 450h, but it is currently a $2,250 option on the 2014 GS 350.
