2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport Leaked Ahead of Tomorrow's Debut [Update]

UPDATE: Click HERE to see the official 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport images and details. Forget all the teasers, spy shots and even the scale models, we finally know what the production version of the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport will look like. These leaked images give us our first official glimpse at the replacement for Land Rover’s LR2, and as expected, the styling is very similar to the 2014 Discovery Vision Concept revealed earlier this year at the New York Auto Show.

The images were leaked by the Italian site Autoblog.it, and they show the new compact SUV from all angles revealing a sporty yet familiar design language from Land Rover. As we have become accustomed to with recent Land Rover products, the front end of the Discovery Sport has a narrow grille, but the LED-trimmed headlights have a more dynamic shape. Like its bigger brothers, this baby Land Rover will also feature a clamshell hood.

Perhaps the most unique element of the 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport is the floating C-pillar, which carries over directly from concept vehicle. At the rear, styling cues are very similar to the Range Rover Evoque with a flush bumper, squared-off taillights and the sloping roofline. Judging by these images, it also looks like the Discovery Sport will feature short front and rear overhangs for optimal off-roading.

Although the leaked images do not reveal any of the Discovery Sport’s interior, Land Rover teased many aspects of this model’s cabin in a video last week. Among the details of the instrument panel, the video gave us our first look at the “5+2” seating configuration that the Land Rover Discovery Sport will utilize. Also unknown are the powertrain options that will be used, but it is almost certain that we’ll see Jaguar Land Rover’s new Ingenium family of smaller-displacement engines of both the gasoline and diesel variety.

We won’t have much longer to wait to find all of the details out, though, as the leaked images come just a day before Land Rover plans on unveiling the Discovery Sport.
