Since September 2011, when Hollywood actor Robert Downey Jr. was spotted driving a weird concept car wearing Acura badges, enthusiasts of the NSX breed and the media were left with a single, burning question: when will the second-generation of the Honda / Acura NSX arrive in dealerships?
According to the Japanese manufacturer's head of development Ted Klaus, the mid-engined supercar will arrive in British dealerships in 2016, wearing a plethora of Honda badges inside and out. To boot, the new model will push the envelope in terms of powertrain technologies and sheer performance.

Expected to be propelled by a twin-turbo V6 engine and electric motors, rumor has it the NSX is going to boast with similar get-up-and-go as the Ferrari 458 Italia for a price similar to that of the Audi R8. Now that's an offer few can refuse in our book.

If you account that the internal combustion engine and three electric motors are mated to a twin-clutch gearbox, while power is sent to all four wheels via a Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system, then you can sort of imagine what kind of performance this Mk2 NSX will boast with.

After numerous testing sessions on the Nurburgring, our carparazzi spotted some Honda engineers driving the test mule yet again. However, on this instance, the prototype Honda / Acura NSX wasn't doing full-attack mode hot laps, but was casually cruising on B-streets near the German circuit.

Until further info sources up on this highly anticipated machine, we'll remind you the hybrid supercar is slated to start production next year in the U.S. at the Honda Performance Manufacturing Center in Ohio.
