Over the weekend, a single image leaked out of the Honda camp showing an updated look at the 2015 Honda CR-V, and now the automaker has confirmed that its high-volume crossover is getting a facelift. Although we’ll have to wait until the end of this month to learn more, Honda has released a high-res image of the new CR-V in addition to an official on-sale date of October 1st.
The biggest change expected for the 2015 CR-V is its front end. With a restyled design that was obviously inspired by the current-generation Honda Accord, the new CR-V has a more upscale presence, but that being said, this single image appears to depict one of the CR-V’s higher trim levels. Perhaps the best part of this new look are the headlights and grille. The narrowed, projector-beam headlights on this model get stylish LED running lights that line up perfectly with the new chrome accents in the grille, and the new grille design alone sports a more attractive and less chunky design than the 2012-14 CR-V.

Below the headlights, the CR-V’s fascia still has the rising center portion for lower intake, but it adds a silver trim for a cleaner look. Flanking this intake are reshaped fog light bezels that replace the round light with rectangular units and add a touch of chrome to replace the previous black plastic bezels. Other styling changes we can see from this image include new wheel designs, new mirrors with turn signal indicators and while we don’t get to see the rear view just yet, we can make out that Honda has somehow reworked the tailligthts.

Additionally, Honda isn’t showing off the interior of the 2015 Honda CR-V, but we’re guessing it will receive its share of updates as well including some of the latest tech we’ve seen from other recently introduced Honda products. For starters, we can see that there is a new camera located behind the windshield indicating that this crossover will be adding Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and/or Forward Collision Warning (FCW). We would also expect the 2015 to offer Honda’s innovative LaneWatch, which uses a camera on the passenger side door mirror to help eliminate the blind spot during lane changes when the turn signal is activated.

Honda says that it will release the “complete information” for the 2015 Honda CR-V on September 30th.
