Those in search of the authentic ‘70s chopper style will most likely be thrilled to see the new colors the 2015 Seventy-Two Sportster brings in. The 2015 model year is not too different from the previous one, save for the colors and the new transmission ratios.
The bike retains the barebone looks of its predecessors and makes liberal use of chrome for the laced rims, mini-apehanger bars, headlight casing, exhaust and engine. Harley offers the 2015 in Seventy-Two in no less than 5 colors, all of them new for the next season, as follows: Deep Jade Pearl, Hard Candy Big Red Flake, Hard Candy Quicksilver Flake, Hard Candy Cancun Blue Flake and Black Quartz. It looks like Harley is only offering the new Seventy-Two in premium paint schemes, so you can expect the average price to be higher than what the bike went for last year.

In the tech department, the ratios of all the 5 gears have been lowered, with the 1st one dropped from 9.315 to 9.004, and the last one from 3.517 to 3.4. As for the rest, the bike seems unchanged, with the same 1,202cc Evolution v-twin producing 96Nm (70.7 lb-ft) of torque at the same 3.500 revs point. The wheelbase and seat height also remained the same (710mm or 27.9 in.), while the classic peanut tank can accommodate the same rather skimpy 7.9 liters (2.1 US gal) of fuel, while the 4.9l/100km (48 mpg) Harley claims makes the 2015 Seventy-Two more of a city bike.

The price is yet to be announced, but if you are thinking of getting a Seventy-Two, you might very well consider a 2014 MY one new if you can find it, or one with low miles on it.
