2015 GMC Canyon Teased Ahead of Detroit Debut

With about a week left until the 2014 Detroit Auto Show kicks off, General Motors has begun teasing the 2015 GMC Canyon pickup truck, which will finally be unveiled to join the 2015 Chevrolet Colorado we’ve seen last year.

GMC has yet to share details on the brand new truck, but, just like its Chevrolet twin, the Canyon is expected to borrow design cues from the bigger 2014 Sierra and offer class-leading payload capacity and trailering. No word on engines either, but the Canyon should feature the same standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder (193 HP) and the optional 3.6-liter V6 (302 HP) offered in the 2015 Colorado.

Last year, GM president Mark Reuss said there will be “more differentiations” between the 2015 Colorado and the Canyon, with the latter to be “more about conquest”, unlike the former, which will be “about value”.

The 2015 GMC Canyon is scheduled to break cover on January 12.
