Just as reality television shows are perfect for networks to fill time slots, they also provide the perfect opportunity for product placement. Coinciding with the season premiere of Farm Kings on Great American Country, Ford has announced that it will be “joining the cast” with a pair of vehicles: the new 2015 Ford Transit van and a 2014 Ford F-150 pickup.
Returning tomorrow for its fourth season, Farm Kings is about Freedom Farms in Butler, PA, which is a family-owned farm run by a mother and her 10 children. This 200-acre farm raises hormone-free cows, chickens and pigs as well as fruits and vegetables.
What better product placements are there for a farm-based tv show than a full-size cargo van and the ubiquitous F-150 truck? The van will almost certainly get its fair share of air time on the show with Ford promising that it will be used to help perform tasks around the farm as well as hauling goods to the local farmer’s market.

This marks the second major reality show product placement for the all-new Transit this year, as it is also prominently featured on American Pickers on the History channel. The van being featured on the show is a 2015 Ford Transit 250 with the medium roof and long wheelbase. Built in Kansas City, MO, this Transit will also be equipped with the all-new 3.2-liter Power Stroke inline five-cylinder turbo diesel, which is rated at 185 hp (138 kW) and 350 lb-ft (474 Nm) of torque. That should be more than enough power to help these farmers out.
